On Friday Oct. 9, 2026 Sayre will host a Gold Out Game to help raise money for Kids Can't Fight Cancer Alone. One way to help support this cause is by purchasing a shirt for the Gold Out Game. Student Spotlight 🎉 Mylee Medina is a 9th grade student involved in volleyball, cheer, SADD, Student Council, softball, & FBLA. She likes geometry since she feels she is best at math. She really likes the red velvet cookies the cafeteria serves.

Sayre High School students in grades 7–12 will have their school pictures taken on Wednesday, September 23. Be sure to check out the attached flyer for details, including Picture Retake Day on October 13. We can't wait to see everyone's smiles!

Sayre Area Jr-Sr High School was recently awarded the NTL Sportsmanship award and the District IV PIAA Sportsmanship award for the 2025-2026 school year. Participating in athletics is about much more than wins and losses, it is also about the life lessons learned while helping young men and women grow into high quality adults through their experiences on the courts and fields. Thank you players, coaches, parents, and fans for showcasing Sayre in such an amazing way, this is a wonderful representation of the District!

Sports fans! The schedule for the week of August 24-29 . ⬇️

This is an important message from the Sayre Area School District. Effectively immediately, electric scooters and electric dirt bikes will not be allowed at Sayre High School or at Snyder Elementary School. Pennsylvania State Law prohibits these modes of transportation from being operated on public roads and sidewalks. They are only permitted to be operated on private property according to this Pennsylvania law. Electric bikes with pedals are legal and can be operated if the operator is at least 16 years of age and is wearing a helmet. These will be permitted at Sayre High School, if these criteria are met. Students will not be allowed to ride electric scooters or electric dirt bikes to school, practices, or after school events. The Sayre Area School District has been working with the Sayre Borough Police Department to ensure that this law is being followed. The safety of students is always a top priority in the Sayre Area School District.

I graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2012, where I earned my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education (K-6). I went on to teach in Palm Beach County, Florida before moving to Sayre in 2016. I've had the opportunity to work with students through Big Brothers Big Sisters, as a building-based substitute, and most recently as the principal’s secretary at Snyder. I am excited to bring all of my experience back to the classroom and look forward to an exciting year! Congratulations, Mrs. Rought. We look forward to the positive impact you will continue to make in your new role. 💙❤️
