I am entering my third year as the principal here at Sayre Jr/Sr High School and I could not be happier with the continuing success of our students. Sayre students are kind, bright, and full of promise. They work hard in their academics and their extracurriculars. They contribute positively to their community. They show respect and make good decisions. They make me constantly proud. This is a reflection of their families as well as the dedicated group of teachers and staff at the high school with whom I am honored to work alongside.  Sayre Area High School offers students in grades 7-12 a quality education, a variety of engaging clubs and activities, and competitive sports programs. I look forward to continuing to develop these opportunities for our students, and help our school community continue to take pride in our district!

Hello Sayre High School,
It is always amazing to me how quickly time seems to pass.  I am hopeful that you took the opportunity to stop and enjoy the moments as they happened this summer.  We are going to have a great year.  A lot of change and work has occurred during your summer break.
You should have received or will be receiving a separate mailing that includes some key information for the High School.  A brief overview of that information is that there will be a renewed intentionality, accountability, and consistency regarding dress code/hats and cell phones.  Please be sure to review that information deliberately.
A final thought from David Bly as you prepare for the upcoming year:  “Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted.”

Sincerely,
Mr. Howey
