Thank you IRFCU for another awesome community experience. The littlest Redskins got a tour of Guthrie’s helicopter and got to learn what an awesome resource we have in our valley. We then went to the Sayre Police Department where we were treated to a tour and learned all about their facility. We are grateful for the blue! Our town is a safer place because of you!

Between the Redskin Club and tonight's gate we collected over $1500 for the victims of the devastating fire in Wyalusing this week. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the staff and students at Wyalusing.💚

Shout OUT to our Ms. Koopman!
SAYRE — Valley Arts4All is inviting the community to a soup-er good time that will benefit local students and teachers.
The organization’s annual Souper Bowl event will return on Feb. 18 at Celebrations Black Diamond Cafe in Sayre, providing various soups and handmade pottery bowls made by Sayre/Athens students and faculty.
The 13th annual fundraiser will continue to benefit Valley Arts4All and their teacher grants and student scholarships.
Valley Arts4All President Kurt Priester shared that the event was created after members of the former Artsfest came together to help the community following the 2011 flood.
Over the years, this group donated to several different charities and overtime, raised funds for student artisans and art/music teachers.
This year was no different.
Priester said Valley Arts4All has set aside over $7,000 in grants for art and music teachers in the Waverly, Sayre, and Athens school districts.
The grants will allow teachers to purchase supplies or special materials for their classrooms, expanding their teachings creatively.
“We are so happy about that,” Priester said.
In addition, Valley Arts4All is able to provide $500 to student artisans this year.
“We actually have five seniors that have been a part of Valley Arts4All over the years and they will be granted $100 each,” Priester said.
Valley Arts4All is an annual event that is held each May at Riverfront Park in Sayre and showcases an abundance of local artists and vendors as well as live entertainment, children’s activities, and more over the course of two days.
The art-focused event has been beloved by the Valley community for many years as it has something for everyone.
At the Souper Bowl event, Priester anticipates a large crowd.
“The first half hour we are walloped with so many people and serving them,” he said. “It is fantastic that people from the community donate their soups to this.”
Priester said this year’s donated soups include baked potato, chicken noodle, seafood chowder, split pea, chili, and more. Mad Hatters Cafe and Tea Garden will also be providing several food options for attendees.
Not only is the soup donated, but the handmade pottery bowls as well.

We want to honor the family that had the tragic house fire with a green out tonight.
