The faculty and staff at the after school program put the edible education kitchen to work. Students helped make fresh apple pies and applesauce from scratch. For some students this was their first time trying apple pie and there were happy faces all around the room. Such a fun activity for the first week of fall!

Last night, our school district hosted the Cavalcade of Bands, welcoming our neighboring districts to the Lockhart Street Bowl! The air was filled with the sounds of incredible musicians, filling the evening with music and energy. The auxiliary teams showcased excellent routines and performances that the crowd enjoyed. Their actions brought the music to life, from the flag twirlers to the dancers. Families and friends came together to cheer on the fantastic musicians, creating an atmosphere of community, pride, and support. The stands were packed with fans, and the energy was contagious. Thank you to all the participating schools, band members, directors, and volunteers for making this event a success!!! It was an evening filled with passion, talent, and celebration.

Sayre Lady Redskins volleyball played very strong last night against Northeast Bradford. The JV team won the match in two sets, collecting their second win of the season. While Varsity played some of the best volleyball they have played almost taking the first two sets, but ultimately losing 25-23, 25-22, and 25-17. Against an undefeated Northeast team we showed up strong early and played very well throughout the match, great job ladies!

We asked 5th grade teacher Ms. Sutton to tell us a little bit about herself: "I have a 9 year old son that I love and adore!!" "Some of my favorite things involve reading, the gym, plants, baking, and adventuring outdoors." " I became a teacher because I wanted to have a career where I could truly have a positive impact on mankind. After having my son, I always worried about having to rely on others to help raise him. I strive to be a teacher that parents are 100% comfortable and confident in sending their kiddos with. It's important to know that we have people who genuinely love and care about our kiddo's health, happiness, and success in school, outside of school, and throughout their entire lives." We are so grateful to have teachers like Ms. Sutton teaching at Sayre!

The anticipation is building!! Which musical will our drama department put on this year? Also, can we get some love for Ms. Wentzel's skills in drawing all of those posters. We are so grateful for all her efforts at Sayre.

Attention Sayre Community! The Music Boosters are a small non-profit group dedicated to promoting, supporting, and continuing the musical arts at Sayre Area School District. We are in search of varying degrees of support: We have an immediate need to help in the concession stand at all home football games, and cavalcade, our marching band’s highlight performance of their year. You can help in the stand itself front of the house or back of the house, or by donating a crockpot of chili, chicken wing dip, macaroni and cheese, pulled pork or the like. We will soon be looking for people to volunteer for concessions on a smaller scale during the musical performances in the spring. There are typically 3 performances over the weekend. We sell candy, water, & flowers during these performances. Ticket sellers/takers may be needed as well for these dates. And finally, long-term, we are in need of new officers to head up the boosters in order to continue the program. Currently, we have only one of our officers with a student involved in any Sayre music program. Her child will be graduating this year. Not only are we looking for officers, but also for a group of supportive music parents to help continue the vision and the development of these awesome music programs! Music boosters helps ALL students involved in all music disciplines: marching band, concert band, chorus, musical theater/drama. We have supported a jazz band, and a pep band in the past as well. Our elementary students are included too!We support their endeavors with instrument rental assistance and music purchases. The money raised helps cover the cost of district and regional competitions for students; helped purchase new band uniforms; assists with repair and upgrading instruments; has purchased stage floor microphones for the musicals; and has assisted with funding of field trips and festivals. We even bought curriculum for use during COVID for the elementary school! Please consider joining us, whether in an immediate volunteer role-or even better-in a more permanent role as an officer. This program is so valuable, and we need your help to continue its many benefits for our kids!! Stay tuned for Music Booster meeting dates to be posted soon. We look forward to seeing so many of you. Thank you to our wonderful community! Small School; Big Heart ❤️💙🎶🥁🎹🎺🎻🪗🪇🪈🎭🎤🏳️
