Mr. Michael Guarino will be retiring from SASD at the conclusion of this school year. He has been teaching languages to Sayre students since 2001. The languages he taught include French, Italian and Spanish, with French and Italian being what he will miss teaching most. When asked, Mr. Guarino said the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing students develop from nothing into competent language speakers, particularly when they have a real desire to learn.
In retirement Mr. Guarino plans to sleep, eat right, exercise and finally get good at playing keyboards. He would like to remind students to treat their teachers with respect in the future.
We thank Mr. Guarino for his dedicated career at Sayre and we wish him all the best in retirement.

Kindergarten had a terrific day exploring the Discovery Center, enjoying the South Waverly playground and getting a special treat from our Johnny D friends! Thank you PTG for helping to make this possible!

Tomorrow morning is the end of our animal care collection. Every little bit helps our friends critters!!!
They do.......

We want to thank all of our staff and faculty who have let us know a little more about them this year. It’s been fun to learn some little known facts about each and why they love being a part of our team here.
Today we celebrate our final staff member, high school math teacher, Mr. Sangrey. Along with teaching we are excited to see that Mr. Sangrey will be stepping into a coaching role! We asked him to tell us a little about himself.
One of my favorite things to do is play volleyball in local and national tournaments. I also enjoy coaching volleyball (which I am looking forward to starting next season at SASD), hunting, and golfing.
Something my students may not know about me is that I lived in South Dakota for three years.
I chose to work at Sayre because it is a small, tight-knit community where I can easily be involved.
My favorite thing about SASD has been working with all of the awesome students this year. Having students who take pride in their education and community makes teaching incredibly rewarding!
Thank you Mr. Sangrey for being a big part of the community we are creating at Sayre.
