SASD Foundation

The Sayre Area School District Foundation was founded in an effort to help find ways to support the overall development and achievement of all students in the school district. Annually, the Foundation provides opportunities to district teachers and staff to apply for additional funds to finance creative and innovative learning experiences to help their students achieve academic, behavioral, and social goals in and out of the classroom. These efforts have proven to be successful, as many students have benefited from teachers’ initiatives that were financially supported by Foundation funds.  Funds collected for such opportunities come from the donations of local businesses, individuals and families connected to the district, and community organizations.  Dispersed funds have been used to finance a variety of opportunities including:

  • Student scholarships for post-secondary education

  • Grants for innovative instructional programming

  • Expansion and maintenance of the Sayre Area School District Archives

Teachers interested in applying for Foundation funds to be used for an education initiative should complete a Venture Grant application and return it to the administrative office for consideration.

The SASD Foundation also proudly oversees the Redman Wall of Fame; a display of coaches from Sayre’s past that have made lasting impacts on the district’s students and community as a whole during their time in their role in the district.  Names of these coaches are displayed on the Redman Wall, which is located near the north entrance of the Lockhart Street Bowl.  The Foundation looks forward to being able to continue to present more standout coaches with this prestigious award and needs the support of the SASD community to do so.  To nominate a SASD coach, please complete the Google Form (attached below) with all applicable information.
