SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is a group of students who empower and mobilize students and adult allies to engage in positive change through leadership and smart decision-making.
Our vision is for all students to collaborate to create a healthier and safer world, one positive decision at a time. Our values are student-led, action, inclusion, and leadership.
This fosters a sense of belonging and promotes resiliency, leadership, and advocacy skills so that young people make positive life decisions that will carry them throughout life.
News & Events
September - Focus on Mental Health
Provided students with informational resources for signs of and assistance with mental health needs.
October - Red Ribbon Week
Held a spirit week to promote a drug-free environment
Sponsored a door decorating contest where students could choose doors volunteered by teachers to decorate with a positive, drug-free message
November - Gratitude and Kindness
SADD members wrote thank you cards to members of the Sayre High School who have had an impact on their time here.
December - Smart Choices Around Driving
Students and parents will receive important tips about safe driving.
A passport competition will be sent to students and parents.
January - Positive Environment
Sponsored a “Be Kind” movement where students and staff could nominate a person for being kind without expecting anything in return. Students nominated will receive a thank you for making our school a better place gift.
Future Events include working with the junior class on planning a Prom Promise event, promoting smart decisions around driving, and making a safe and positive environment for all.
