FREE LUNCH on 9.17, 18 & 19 FOR ALL KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS!
On 9.17, 9.18 and 9.19, ALL Kindergarten students can eat for free in the cafeteria and get a free prize each day! This is The Nutrition Group’s way of giving you and your student a chance for our newest customers to try cafeteria foods! Kindergarten students are sometimes hesitant to stand in the cafeteria line and to figure out how to get cafeteria meals. This Lunch for Life program gives them a chance to try without cost! Kindergarten students who pack their meals can still go through the cafeteria line on these three days – a student needs to take three meal components to satisfy the requirements for a “meal”, so a student who packs can take a milk, fruit and vegetable to go along with their lunch just to get the experience of going through the serving line! See the attached flyer for more information on our Lunch for Life event!

Here’s what’s happening in your cafeterias!
We will be celebrating homecoming weekend in both the Snyder and SHS cafeterias on Friday, 9.13! Free cookies, prizes, and “Smiley Fries” will be part of the fun burger bar menus!
Our Tasty Bite special item in September is Soft Pretzel Nuggets! We will be offering these with the lunch meal as a grain component at Snyder on 9.19, and weekly on Wednesdays as an ala carte item at SHS!
On Wednesday 9.18 at Snyder Elementary all students will be offered a free sample of Creamy Cucumber Salad along with a special sticker! Wellness Wednesday is one way we share our love of nutrition and vegetables with the students!
On 9.27 at SHS the recipe of the month selection is a returning favorite, Sweet and Spicy BBQ Chicken Bowl! This is a delicious chicken dish served over rice.
It’s always fun to change things up a bit… so we spice up the SHS menu with “fusion” foods! This month’s FUSION item is Teriyaki Burger, offered at our HOMECOMING picnic burger bar on Friday, 9.13!
STUDENT MEAL CHARGE POLICY
It’s important that cafeteria meals are paid for in advance, with money put on the student’s account, or at the time the meal is taken. THANK YOU! You can check your student’s cafeteria balance any time by using your SCHOOLCAFE account. If you have questions about a student’s balance, please contact the cafeteria manager or the Food Service Director.
(REMINDER: The cafeteria portion of Skyward is no longer used so the cafeteria account information on Skyward is not valid… please use SCHOOLCAFE for current cafeteria activity/balances. Thanks!)
You now can make on-line cafeteria payments, set automatic reminders, set purchasing limits, view activity and MORE! You will no longer go to Skyward to view cafeteria activity. Go now and create an account in SchoolCafe! (www.schoolcafe.com). You will need your student’s PIN number to easily create an account. (If you don’t know the number, and your student doesn’t remember it, just email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get that for you!) You can also add the SchoolCafe app to your phone! Read all about SchoolCafe on the attached document that takes you through easy steps to create an account! Click here: schoolcafe quick card directions for parents 2 sided
