Procedure for FNS Civil Rights Complaints

We are pleased to inform you that the Sayre Area School District will be implementing a new provision known as the
Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) in the 2022-2023 school year. This program is available to schools and districts
that are participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.
All enrolled students of Sayre Area High School and Snyder Elementary School are eligible to receive a nutritional breakfast and lunch each school day at no charge to your household.
No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without paying
a fee or submitting an application. However, we still strongly encourage parents/guardians of students in both buildings to complete the free/reduced meal application.  The application can be found on schoolcafe.com.  If you haven’t created an account with Schoolcafe, you will simply need your student(s) school ID numbers.

Thank you.  Please direct any questions to Kari Frye or Barry Claypool.

You now can quickly and confidentially apply for Free/Reduced meals for your student online.

Go to schoolcafe.com (you’ll need your student’s cafeteria ID number), create an account (if you don’t already have one), and follow the directions on how to apply for this powerful benefit.

Click on the attached links (in red) for tips on how to create a SchoolCafe account and how to apply for free/reduced meals.  SchoolCafe free reduced meal application tips, school cafe tips on creating student accounts.

Note, you can apply any time of the year if your circumstances change.  Contact us with questions!

STUDENT MEAL CHARGE POLICY
It’s important that cafeteria meals are paid for in advance, with money put on the student’s account, or at the time the meal is taken.  THANK YOU!

You can check your student’s cafeteria balance any time by using your SCHOOLCAFE account. If you have questions about a student’s balance, please contact the cafeteria manager or the Food Service Director.
(REMINDER:  The cafeteria portion of Skyward is no longer used so the cafeteria account information on Skyward is not valid… please use SCHOOLCAFE for current cafeteria activity/balances.  Thanks!)

You now can make online cafeteria payments, set automatic reminders, set purchasing limits, view activity, and MORE!  You will no longer go to Skyward to view cafeteria activities.  Please create an account in SchoolCafe!  at SchoolCafe.com.

You will need your student’s PIN number to easily create an account.  (If you don’t know the number, and your student doesn’t remember it, just email sjudge@sayresd.org and we’ll get that for you!)  You can also add the SchoolCafe app to your phone!
