Woodworking I– This full year course, will introduce students to the woodworking industry. Basic cabinetry and project construction will be covered. Safety and proper use of woodworking tools will be emphasized. Reading plans, layout, design and production will be covered.
Students will be required to complete several projects throughout the year.
Woodworking II/III– This full year course will allow a student who previously took Woodworking I, to continue on the path of furniture design and construction. Advanced techniques will be taught using the woodworking machinery in the shop.
Students will be required to construct at least one piece of large furniture throughout the year.
7th grade Technology Education– Students will be introduced to technology education, and STEM curriculum. Basic rocketry, bridge building and design and working with hand power tools will be covered throughout this quarter class. Safety and proper tool usage will be stressed, allowing a student a glimpse into the engineering world.
8th grade Technology Education– Students will continue their path along the STEM curriculum. Aerodynamics of car design, bridge building and truss design, computer aided drafting and cyber literacy are some of the topics that will be touched upon. An emphasis on measurement and mathematics will be taught.
