One Call
Purpose: One Call Now is a system that allows the Sayre Area School District to contact the Primary Caregiver(s) of student(s) via phone calls for major announcements (school closings, emergencies, etc.). For example, if a major snowstorm results in the cancellation of school, the Primary Caregiver with a valid phone number will receive a phone call announcing the cancellation of school.
Sayre Area School District defines the Primary Caregiver as the individual(s) that the student(s) resides with on a typical Monday thru Friday basis or when school is in session.
The key is to make sure that your phone numbers are valid.
Parents: Each student has one (1) Primary Caregiver listed in the School Information System, this is the individual in which that student resides with on a typical Monday thru Friday basis when school is in session. SASD will contact the one (1) home phone number and up to two (2) cell phone numbers for emergencies. If the student(s) are with a Temporary Caregiver on any typical Monday thru Friday when school is in session, it is the responsibility of the Temporary Caregiver to obtain the information about school closings. SASD offers multiple paths to accomplish this.
The Temporary Caregiver can log on to the SASD Home Page at http://www.sayresd.org/default.asp, watch WETM18 , WSKG, News Channel 34, WBNG 12, News 10 Now, WNEP 16, or listen to Wats 960AM & WAVR102.1FM, Lite Rock 107, Wiggle 100.3AM & 102.9FM, Wink 106,Magic 101.7. The Caregiver will be responsible for finding which of the above TV or Radio stations they receive within their home(s).
Phone numbers provided cannot be automated systems. What this means is if you provide a phone number that is answered by an automation machine (Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Customer Support, etc) One Call Now WILL NOT go through.
If you are not able to answer the phone(s) and your voice mail/answering machine answers, the recording starts as soon as the system recognizes a human voice. This means that if you have a long outgoing message, you may not actually hear anything on your voice mail/answering machine. If this happens, please use one of the above methods to confirm if school is closed or on a delay.
We are currently not able to send text messages to cell phones.
If you have recently changed any of your contact information (phone numbers & email address), please email this information to the appropriate school:
